Another star of The Real Housewives franchise has filed for bankruptcy! Sonja Tremont-Morgan has followed Teresa Giudice's lead by blowing through millions of dollars. But in this case, Morgan, 46, is pointing the finger at someone else: John Travolta.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the star of The Real Housewives of New York City has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Wednesday, claiming $19.8 million in debt and $13.5 million in assets on her bankruptcy petition. "The decision to seek bankruptcy relief was not an easy one, but unfortunately, I am at a crossroads in my life," she said in court papers.
So where does Travolta factor in to all of this? Morgan's production company, Sonja Productions, had planned to partner with Hannibal Pictures Inc. for a movie called Fast Flash to Bang Time, which was set to star Travolta.
But Morgan claims she couldn't get the project moving when she couldn't meet Travolta's "various conditions." In turn Hannibal Pictures filed a lawsuit against Morgan's company and won a $7 million judgment.
Morgan now claims that she wasn't properly represented in the trial and has since filed for an appeal. Until then, Morgan says she's banking on income from The Real Housewives of New York City, as well as writing a cookbook an developing a clothing line.
Morgan, who was busted for a DWI this summer, has taken to her blog since filing for bankruptcy, and she claims many close to her will "follow her to whatever venture she attaches herself and which city she finds herself." However, her attorney and a Bravo rep couldn't be reached for comment by the WSJ.
Do you think John Travolta is mostly to blame for Sonja Tremont-Morgan's financial woes or are there other factors? Chime in below!
